In 1970, TOMY launched Tomica, Japan’s first series of miniature vehicle based on domestic car models. Today, over three generations have enjoyed the series, and it will mark its 40th anniversary in 2010. Since its conception, the Tomica line has continuously fueled the dreams and aspirations people have for their cars. More than 10 million units are sold every year, making Tomica synonymous with miniature cars in Japan.
At the Tokyo Motor Show, TOMY will host a diorama display that includes the newly released Byun Byun Big Tower Circuit as well as concept cars that reflect the current times.
Choro-Q marks its 30th anniversary on September 9, 2009. The series will be reborn on October 24 with the launch of Choro-Q Hybrid! The Choro-Q booth will show the link between Choro-Q, cars, and family. In collaboration with domestic car makers, TOMY will present the Choro-Q Mini Motor Show featuring concept cars in Choro-Q scale. The new Choro-Q Hybrid! (launch October 24), and a Choro-Q that people can actually ride in, will also be displayed. Two exclusive Choro-Q Hybrid! cars (spring-wound and remote-controlled models), designed by Tokoro George to commemorate the Tokyo Motor Show, will also be available for purchase.
