General questions

When will the 41st Tokyo Motor Show 2009 be held?
The show is scheduled for Friday, October 23 through Wednesday, November 4, 2009. Friday, October 23 (Fri.) will be the Special Guest Day and Opening Ceremony; General Public Days will be from Saturday, October 24 to Wednesday, November 4 (12 days).
Where will the Show be held?
Makuhari Messe, Chiba
What kinds of special events are planned?
We are currently in the process of putting together the special events menu and look forward to offering a wide range of audience-participation, hands-on activities. They will be uploaded on this website as the details are finalized.
I would like to link to the website. What should I do?
Anyone is free, in principle, to link to the website. However, we ask that you adhere to the following two standards.

Who is qualified to exhibit?
Exhibitors are limited to manufacturers in the passenger cars, commercial vehicles, motorcycles, commercial vehicle bodies, parts, machinery and tools industries. The Regulations for the 41st Show will be finalized in August 2008 and uploaded on the official website. Regulations. See Page 45 (the 7th page of the PDF file).
We will be exhibiting for the first time. How should we apply?
New applicants are requested to submit their company profile and product catalogs etc. in advance. All applications will be screened according to the Regulations. Please note that exhibition space is limited and new exhibitors may be waitlisted until space becomes available. Please contact the Secretariat for further information
Will you inform us about booth space?
After exhibitor applications are closed, the Secretariat will adjust and finalize booth allocations and inform applicants. Please be aware that we may be forced to adjust booth space and may not be able to fully meet all requests.

We would like to register for press credentials. What should we do?
Registration is scheduled to begin at the end of July 2009. Please wait until online registration opens. Organizations and individuals who registered for the previous show (the 40th Show in 2007) will automatically receive a notice at their registered e-mail addresses.
I have changed my organization or location and would like to modify my previous registration. What should I do?
This service will also be available online. Please wait until the page is up.

What is the most recent edition?
The most recent edition is "Japanese Motor Vehicles Guidebook 2008-2009 Vol. 55" published on 2008.
When will the next volume be published?
Publication is scheduled for November 2009.
Will it be on sale at local bookstores?
Bookstores will be able to special order it, but if you are in a hurry, we recommend that you purchase directly from "Book Service". The guidebook will be delivered anywhere in Japan within 3 to 7 days.

Merchandise

Is official merchandise still available from the previous show (the 40th Show in 2007)?
Sales of Tokyo Motor Show official merchandise was made only at the show, and all sales terminated with the end of the show.
Is exhibitor premium merchandise still available from the previous show (the 40th Show in 2007)?
Since exhibitor premium merchandise was supplied for sale at the show by exhibitors, we are not in a position to reply to the above question. Please contact exhibitors directly.

Miscellaneous questions

Can I get some posters?
Posters are not distributed to the general public.
I would like one of the guide pamphlets distributed at the shows in the past.
Unfortunately, we have no more pamphlets in inventory.
Where can I learn about international motor shows?
Information on international motor shows sanctioned by the Organisation Internationale des Constructeurs d'Automobiles (OICA) is available from the OICA website.
Where can I learn about other motor shows?
The Secretariat only operates the "Tokyo Motor Show." Please contact the organizers of other motor shows (domestic and international) for details.
